CALENDAR for the 2016-2017 School Year

Hello Rocky View Elementary Families,

Welcome to Rocky View Elementary School.  On behalf of the staff and myself, I would like to welcome everyone and say how thrilled we are to begin the new school year.   I am looking forward to working with and getting to know all of my students and families.  We have many wonderful and engaging opportunities planned for this school year.  Our goal is to create and maintain the best learning environment we can for our students.   It is my hope that each of you will be informed and involved supporters of Rocky View Elementary as the year progresses.

My short-term and long-term goals for the students of Rocky View Elementary:

-To earn at least 1 year’s academic growth each year
-To continue to grow socially, developing strong leadership & communication skills
-To be prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century as learners & leaders
-To contribute to the school, home, and Gallup McKinley County communities
-To become well-rounded, involved citizens of the world

My goals for the Rocky View Elementary community as a whole:

-To be actively involved in the growth of our students both academically and socially
-To stay informed and maintain open lines of communication
-To invest time and energy in the well-being of our students
-To assist in any way needed to allow the Roadrunners of Rocky View Elementary to ZOOM.

At Rocky View School we promote and encourage Character Education.  Our teachers and staff lead by example; they demonstrate respect, consideration, and kindness to everyone on a daily basis.  We also celebrate success and project a positive can-do attitude.  Our students are taught the benefits of integrity and being a person of good character.  At Rocky View School, Character Education is real.

-Be safe
-Be a learner
-Be respectful and
-Treat others the way you would want to be treated!

I look forward to working with each of you and seeing you as you visit Rocky View Elementary!

Debbie Arthur, Principal
